So you want a free ride?

So, we’re interested to read on a blog or two that it’s a ‘bloody cheek’ to have to pay for the bicycle maps… Makes you wonder, doesn’t it, if these demanding readers have the faintest idea how much work goes into creating a map. And whether they live off trust funds, large salaries or an overwhelming sense of entitlement? Do they expect their grocery store, newspaper vendor or bookshop simply to give them what they ask for, or do they pay? Do they donate their hours to their employers or expect a salary?

It’s true that most large cities offer bicycle maps free, but those maps were created by the local authority, for residents, not by an independent organisation that has to make a living…

Nevertheless, the maps are, in fact, available free from the people who supported us, advertised with us and believed in us. Without these people with vision, we could not have created the maps at all. So please visit their stores and ask for a copy – and buy something else while you’re there 🙂

We’re also been asked if the maps are available online. Not yet – anyone got the funding to help us do it? But we did specifically want to create a print map, as we’ve found those to be the most useful. There’s nothing quite like having a printed map in your hands (not even an iPhone is better…)
